Brief profile:
Mutoni Dianah is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda’s College of Business and Economics (UR/CBE). She holds an MBA in Marketing and is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology, with a research interest in girls’ participation in STEM education in Rwandan high schools. Her commitment to teaching is grounded in her belief in education’s power to expand opportunities and improve lives.
Her academic interests connect marketing, sociology, and gender. Her marketing background provides a foundation for understanding communication, decision-making, and consumer behaviour, while sociology deepens her understanding of how social norms, institutions, and inequalities shape those choices. Together, these perspectives inform her teaching and research on gender, educational aspirations, and participation in STEM. Beyond academia, they can support inclusive marketing, campaigns that challenge gender stereotypes, and partnerships between schools and businesses to widen opportunities for girls and women.
Research Area:
The Impact of Educational Reform Policies Implementation and Socioeconomic Factors on High School Female Student Engagement in STEM Education in Rwanda.
