Brief profile: 
Prof. Mukamana has more than 15 years of teaching experience at the University of Rwanda, instructing undergraduate and postgraduate students in economics and gender-related courses, including contributions to both bachelor’s and master’s programs. She Holds a PhD with research focused on gender and economic empowerment (including microfinance for low-income entrepreneurs) from Makerere University, Uganda. She also holds two master degrees, one in Economics from Kampala International University, Uganda and another in Microfinance from Bergamo University, Italy. Her research broadly focuses on gender , social and economic issues, particularly: Economic empowerment of women through microfinance and small-scale business promotion, Access to and control over financial services by disadvantaged groups and Gendered dimensions of labor, livestock productivity, and income activities. She is also a certified trainers of ToTs in gender aware economics by the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and has offered the GEPMI training to the academic staff of the university of Rwanda and other Rwandan public and private institutions.
