Brief profile:
Mr. Anselme Ruhumuriza is an academic, researcher, trainer, and youth leader with a Master’s degree in International Relations and extensive experience in higher education, leadership, and regional youth engagement. He serves as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda and is a certified trainer in Conflict Resolution and Management, as well as an AI Certified Trainer with growing expertise in digital transformation and emerging technologies for development.
With over five years of leadership experience, Anselme previously served as the Social Welfare Commissioner at the Rwanda National Youth Council Headquarters from 2021-2026 under the Ministry of Youth and Arts (MoYA). He currently serves as the Secretary General of the ICGLR Multifunctional Youth Forum in the Great Lakes Region, where he contributes to regional youth coordination, peacebuilding, and cross-border cooperation initiatives.
Anselme is also a member of the YouthConnekt Advisory Council and serves as the Mobilization Commissioner at the Headquarters of the Pan-African Movement, promoting African unity, youth mobilization, and continental integration. In addition, he is a certified fellow in Ecological Civilization and Green Poverty Reduction from China (2026), with a strong interest in sustainable development, climate governance, and green transformation policies.
As a consultant and member of the Living Equality Initiative, he works on programs related to youth empowerment, inclusive leadership, climate change, gender equality, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). His academic and professional interests include peace and conflict studies, migration and refugee affairs, governance, democracy, regional integration, international affairs, and sustainable development. Through education, research, training, advocacy, and policy engagement, he remains committed to advancing inclusive and sustainable societal transformation across Africa and beyond.
