Brief profile: 
Jeanne d’Arc Chinama Rusizana is a woman passionate to be part of scientists around the world that can make change around them. She is among a few horticulturists in Rwanda, a sector which is still at its infancy. She is an assistant lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture Forestry and Food science (CAFF), department of Crop Science, where she is involved in teaching, conducting research and community outreach. She is currently pursuing a PhD in plant biotechnology at Egerton University in Kenya. Her research is on the Development of In Vitro Regeneration Systems for Mass Propagation of Disease-Free Tamarillo (Cyphomandra Betacea) and Assessment of Genetic Stability of Regenerants. She holds an MSc degree in horticulture plant production from Writtle College University of Essex, United Kingdom and a BSc degree in crop production and horticulture from the former National University of Rwanda.
