Brief profile:
Drocelle Nirere is an assistant lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Food Sciences and Forestry, Crop Science Department with over 13 years of experience in academia, research and consultancy. Currently, Ms.Drocelle is pursuing her PhD studies at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania, in the Crop Science and Horticulture department with a thematic area of Food security and agribusiness since August 2021 up to 2026. Her research interest is in soil fertility and plant nutrition. Ms.Drocelle had been an affiliated PhD scholar at University of Greenwich, at National Resources Institute, United Kingdom from October 2024 up to April 2025. She had been awarded master's degree in Agronomy department from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangaluru, India in 2016. She also obtained bachelor's degree in agriculture from University of Rwanda in 2011. Moreover, in 2020 Ms. Drocelle obtained University Teaching Certificate (High learning Authorized by University of Hong Kong). Ms. Drocelle has provided a consultancy in Rwanda Association of Local Government Authorities from 2020 to 2025. Furthermore, she has provided consultancy in University of Rwanda holding group since 2020. She is a member of Organization for Women in Science for Developing World (OWSD) since 2018 up to date. She is a member of Rwandan Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE). During her bachelor's degree, she had been a Vice guild president of Student University Association during her bachelor's degree, from 2008-2009.
