Brief profile: 
Isaac Kayumba is an assistant Lecturer and researcher at the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences (UR-CAFF), School of Forestry Ecotourism and Landscape Management (SFELM), Department of Forestry and Landscape Management. He holds a Master of Science (MSc. For.PT) in Forestry Products and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agroforestry. He is an experienced forestry professional and academic with over 15 years in forest management, agroforestry systems, and wood technology fields. Proven expertise in research, teaching, and community outreach with a strong background in sustainable forest ecology and management and climate change mitigation. Currently He is pursuing a PhD at the Swedish University of Agricultural sciences (SLU), Department of Forest Ecology and Management. His PhD research project focuses on tree management for improved water availability in agroforestry systems of Rwanda, specifically in Kayonza and Nyagatare District.
