Brief profile:
My name is Gervais Ndazigaruye, an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (CVAS), School of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (SVMLS). I hold a master’s degree in animal sciences and technology, and I am currently pursuing a sandwich PhD at Ghent University, Belgium.
My academic and professional interests focus on animal production and health, with particular emphasis on poultry gut health and feeding management. I am actively involved in teaching courses related to animal production and husbandry management (Ruminant and non-ruminant production) and veterinary clinics hands-on practices.
My PhD research investigates the bleeding and dietary inclusion of black soldier fly (BSF) larvae at different levels in poultry diets to evaluate growth performance parameters, health status, and cost-effectiveness. My work aims to contribute to sustainable, high-quality feed resources, reduce feed costs and enhance the health and productivity of non-ruminant livestock, particularly poultry and pigs.
