Prof.ANI Elemi John

"Prof Elemi John Ani is a medical doctor with MSc. and Ph.D degrees in medical Physiology, with over twenty years experience in teaching , supervising and examining undergraduate students in various Colleges of Medicine in Universities within and outside Nigeria. He has also successfully supervised 11 PhD’s and over 20 other postgraduate students to complete their MSc. and Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Physiology. He was employed into the department of Physiology, College of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Nigeria as lecturer 2 in the year 2002 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Physiology in 2018. His major area of specialisation is Blood and Cardiovascular Physiology and he has over 50 national and international publications in reputable journals in these areas. He also has growing research interests in exercise and neurophysiology and has attended many national and international workshops, seminars and conferences and presented many papers. He was employed as Professor of Physiology on contract basis in the Department of Medical Physiology, School of Medicine and Pharmacy, CMHS, University of Rwanda in 2022. He is currently working on the effect of Tertbutylhydroquinone on cisplatin-induced myocardial infarction in wistar rats. He is a Christian and happily married with children. He enjoys watching soccer, science documentaries and listening to music. "
