Brief profile: 
"I am Dr. David Hakizimana, a neurosurgeon and academic based in Kigali, Rwanda. I serve as a Senior Lecturer in Neurosurgery and Human Anatomy, hold an MMed in Neurosurgery (University of Rwanda), and am a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa. I am also a Neurosurgeon at King Faisal Hospital, where my clinical practice includes brain, spine, and peripheral nerve surgery. My research focuses on strengthening neurosurgical care, outcomes, and surgical and anatomy education in resource-limited settings. My peer-reviewed work spans skull base surgery training and neuroanatomy education, Chiari malformation, cerebrovascular and neurotrauma burden , spine surgery quality and safety and neuro-oncology . I have also published notable case reports, including Chemical meningitis from a leaking craniopharyngioma and thoracic spine deformity post-tetanus. Beyond medicine, I am a 5th Dan Taekwondo black belt and a Kukkiwon-certified International Taekwondo Master, and I serve as President of the Rwanda Taekwondo Federation—supporting community well-being through both education and sport."
