Dr.KAGISHA Vedaste

"Dr Vedaste KAGISHA is a researcher and Senior Lecturer and chair of the Department of Pharmaceutucals and Biomolecues analysis, School of Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Rwanda. Vedaste obtained a BSc degree in Chemistry from National University of Rwanda in 2008, a MSc degree in Water resources and environmental management from the University of Rwanda in collaboration with INESCO-IH in 2010 and MSc degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences quality control and Quality Assurance from the University of Rwanda in collaboration with the University of Liege in 2012. He obtained a PhD degree in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Liege, Belgium in 2021. Vedaste conducts research related to herbal medicines quality control, novel medicines discovery, formulation of improved phytomedicines, quality control of modern medicines. His now PI and Co-PI of several projects related to quality control : (1) Enhancement the processing and standardization technics towards the production of certified phytomedicines and food supplements in response to critical health needs in Rwanda; Rwanda NCST, Co-PI, (2) ARES-AI project for improving the University of Rwanda Capacity in Biotechnology.
