Brief profile:
Dr. Bimenyimana is a social scientist specialising in social work, governance, public administration, and community development. He holds a PhD in Social Work, along with a master’s degree in public administration and social Welfare. His career bridges academic research and practical policy engagement, focusing on strengthening links between scholarship and real-world practice. He serves as Advisor to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research at the University of Rwanda, contributing to academic governance and research strategy. Internationally, he is the African Commissioner for Education at the International Federation of Social Workers and an Alternate Council Member at the Commonwealth Organisation of Social Workers, while also actively participating in the Rwanda National Organisation of Social Workers. Before academia, he worked in Rwanda’s local government in health and social protection. His research interests include community resilience, youth engagement, public health, social cohesion, governance, and institutional performance.
