Prostitution trends analysis, causes, consequences and policy options for enhancing the wellbeing of the Rwandan community

This is an innovation related to the approach that can be used to decrease the number of street prostitutes in Rwanda. The approach consists of forming group associations among the prostitutes, train them about the income generating activities and give them a small amount of money as an investment. That money should be returned with a small interest after a certain time. This approach has been tasted in three districts of Rwanda, (Rubavu, Musanze and Huye). The results show a surprising positive impact to the women prostitutes. They have started the process of leaving prostitution to become smaller entrepreneurs.
