Brief profile:
"Marie Christine is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda,College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences(UR-CVAS). She is currently pursuing PhD studies at
the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) . She holds an MSc in Plant and Animal Resources Management in a Tropical Environment from the University of Liège, Belgium, a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Production from the Faculty of Agronomy at the National University of Rwanda(Former), and a Diploma in Leadership and Cycle Management from the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. Marie Christine has held several leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Animal Production for five years in the School of Veterinary Medicine, as well as serving as a College Academic Staff Representative for three years. In addition, at the University of Rwanda, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Integrated Agricultural Research for Development (IAR4D) under the Sub-Saharan African Challenge Program (SSACP) at the college level, focusing on climate-smart agriculture and livestock production for four years (2011–2014). In 2015, she was awarded a fellowship by Biosciences Eastern and Central Africa – International Livestock Research Institute (BecA-ILRI), where she spent one year working on the diversity of fungal endophytes associated with Rwandan Brachiaria(grass spp) ecotypes. She has also served as the Principal Investigator for various research projects and has published in peer-reviewed journals.
