Brief profile:
Mr. Fulgence MANIRIHO is a Medical–Surgical Nurse Specialist and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda (UR), College of Medicine and Health Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical–Surgical Nursing (2017), a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (2022), and a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in General Nursing (2010), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at UR. With over 13 years of experience in nursing education and academic leadership, he has served continuously as Head of the General Nursing Department (Advanced Diploma program) from the former Byumba School of Nursing and Midwifery through its integration into UR, until the commencement of his PhD studies. His roles have included teaching and assessment, department coordination, student support, community service, and research, with four peer-reviewed publications to date. He has also completed international and professional capacity-building programs, including a nursing internship at Haute École Louvain en Hainaut (HELHa), Belgium (2024), the Capacity Building for Nurses of Africa program in South Korea (2012), and a six-month Research Capacity Building Program with GREEN STARZ IMPAKT HUB LTD in partnership with Survey CTO (2025). He was recognized for excellence with a Best Employee award (2013–2014), his research interest areas include Infection Prevention and Control, and Patient Safety, Injuries and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Digital Health and Innovation in Nursing Education, Health Education and Behavior Change, Maternal, Child, and Reproductive Health.
