Dr. Jennifer Batamuliza is an academic leader, accomplished technology expert, and advocate for inclusive innovation and societal transformation. With over a decade of experience in academia and industry, she is a prominent figure among Rwanda’s women leaders, recognized for leveraging technology to address societal challenges and promote equitable access to education and digital opportunities. Currently serving at the University of Rwanda, Dr. Batamuliza holds multiple academic and leadership roles. Dr. Jennifer Batamuliza is a Lecturer & Head of Data Driven Incubation Hub & Short Professional Courses at African Center of Excellence in Data Science at University of Rwanda, she is a Program Lead for Prepare and Girls Empowerment at Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at University of Rwanda Dr. Batamuliza is also the University of Rwanda AFRETEC Project Deputy Coordinator & Career Path Lead. She has Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology, Master’s Degree of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology and PhD in Data Science with specialization in Data Mining. Her expertise lies in Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Network Security, and Artificial Intelligence, areas in which she has made significant contributions to advancing secure, scalable, and data-driven technological solutions. She is a DASCA (Data Science Council of America) Certified Senior Big Data Analyst, pioneering data-driven innovations for efficiency in both public and private sectors. As the current Vice President of the Rwanda Association for Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE), Dr. Batamuliza is dedicated to empowering women and girls in STEM through mentorship, education, and advocacy. Her efforts have inspired a new generation of leaders, championing gender inclusivity and breaking barriers in technology and leadership. In addition, as CEO & Founder of RWA TECH HUB, Dr. Batamuliza is active in Rwanda’s tech startup ecosystem, shaping Africa’s technological future through empowering and skilling girls in Tech Space with digital skills. Her work continues to drive progress, empower talent, and create sustainable growth through education, industry, and advocacy. She has been awarded several awards for the work she is doing in Empowering Women and Girls in STEM field such as Women Science Leadership award by National Council for Science and Technology in partnership with Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion.
