Dr. Jean de Dieu Ndikumana

Dr. Ndikumana Jean de Dieu is a dedicated academic and researcher serving as the Head of the Geology Department at the University of Rwanda, School of Mining and Geology. His research focuses on Mineral Exploration Geoscience, with a proven track record of contributing to the Rwandan mining industry from advanced exploration techniques to the development of mines across all scales. Dr. Ndikumana has published as first author in SCI and Scopus-indexed journals. His research portfolio is both diverse and impactful, encompassing projects on structural controls of mineralization, the geochemistry of geophagic clays and their health effects, groundwater quality, and innovative environmental remediation using bio-adsorbents. He is also the recipient of a research grant from the Geochemical Society aimed at empowering young girls in STEM. Dr. Ndikumana is highly proficient in using key analytical instruments, including XRF, ICP-OES, UV-Vis, and XRD, to support his research and advance the field.
