James Ntaganda

James Ntaganda is a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda (College of Science and Technology). His research focuses on energy studies and household technologies, with particular emphasis on smart metering, IoT, and remote monitoring for energy systems. He studies energy utilisation patterns and user practices in low-income contexts—integrating social thematics such as adoption dynamics, everyday practices, equity, and gendered dimensions of energy use to improve the real-world performance, reliability, and impacts of distributed bioenergy solutions. He also contributes to reference energy system models (RESMs) education and curriculum development.
