"Holds a PhD in transportation engineering,MSc in Geomatics,MBA in project management and BSc in Civil Engineering Nkurunziza’s research spans transport safety, road networks, geomatics and pedestrian mobility. He has authored/co-authored several publications including studies on Pedestrian safety and driver behavior at crosswalks.
Over 19 years of experience working in roles such as transport surveyor, chief surveyor, senior surveyor, and team leader on road design and technical construction supervision projects.
He has been involved in major transportation projects including Kigali Urban Transport Improvement (KUTI) as a senior surveyor supporting detailed design and climate-resilient transport infrastructure.
He is engaged in producing teaching documents and supervising research in areas of road network assessment and safety. "
