Brief profile:
Dr. Obed Nkuriyingoma is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at the University of Rwanda. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Energy Systems Engineering from Kocaeli University and a Master of Science (MSc) in Energy Systems Engineering from Erciyes University, Türkiye, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rwanda. His academic expertise spans renewable energy systems, photovoltaic (PV) technologies, power systems analysis, and energy storage integration. Dr. Nkuriyingoma’s research focuses on enhancing electrical grid reliability through the integration of solar photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage, as well as forecasting and modelling techniques for renewable power generation. He has published peer-reviewed articles on renewable energy technologies, including reliability studies of grid-integrated PV-BESS systems and techno-economic analyses of hybrid energy solutions. His technical skillset includes photovoltaic systems, distributed generation, power converters, and energy systems modelling, supported by a strong foundation in simulation and performance evaluation methods. Dr. Nkuriyingoma actively contributes to teaching and research activities that address sustainable energy challenges in Rwanda and the broader region.
