Brief profile: 
Uwihangana Consolée is an assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda. She holds a Msc. in Social Work and Human Rights from Gothenburg University, a MA in Development Studies from the University of Rwanda, and a BA in Social Work from the former National University of Rwanda. She possesses a Certificate on Psychosocial Support of People Living with HIV/AIDS and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP). She has experience working with vulnerable women since she has been a social work trainer in Women for Women International, Rwanda. She is also an Award winner of “UBUNTU SOCIAL WORK AWARD” by the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW)- Africa Region, (E-award), in Recognition of her Role in Ending Gender Based Violence. She is currently doing her PhD training at Gothenburg University, Sweden. Her research is entitled Social Change without Disruption? Learning from indigenous practices of Rwandan family Life and contemporary gender equality agenda.
