Dr.Roger Muremyi

"Dr. Roger Muremyi is a Rwandan academic and researcher with expertise in data science, actuarial science, and statistical modeling. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Statistics at the University of Rwanda and currently serves as Head of the PhD Program and Research at the African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACEDS), where he provides academic leadership in doctoral training, research coordination, and postgraduate research programs. His role includes supervising PhD candidates, guiding research strategy, and ensuring the implementation of institutional research standards. He has also previously served as Acting Deputy Dean of the School of Economics, contributing to academic leadership and institutional governance. Dr. Muremyi has extensive experience in teaching advanced quantitative courses, curriculum development, and graduate mentorship, with strong emphasis on analytical rigor and applied modeling. He is actively engaged in research, consultancy, and capacity-building initiatives, with advanced proficiency in statistical and data analysis software such as Python, R, Stata, and SPSS. He holds a PhD in Data Science (Actuarial Science specialization), an MSc in Statistical Modeling and Actuarial Science, and a BSc in Applied Mathematics. His research interests focus on applying machine learning and statistical methods to health economics and public health, particularly in modeling healthcare expenditures, evaluating health insurance impacts, and supporting evidence-based policy and decision-making."
