Brief profile:
My research focuses on enhancing the quality and nutrient composition of horticultural crops through the use of vermicompost and volcanic rock powder within organic production systems. The study investigates how these organic soil amendments improve soil fertility, microbial activity, and nutrient availability, leading to improved crop growth, yield quality, and nutritional value.
Vermicompost is examined for its role in supplying readily available nutrients, improving soil structure, and promoting beneficial microorganisms, while volcanic rock powder is assessed for its potential to provide slow-release macro- and micronutrients and enhance long-term soil mineral balance. The combined application aims to create a sustainable nutrient management strategy that reduces reliance on synthetic fertilizers.
Overall, the research contributes to the development of environmentally friendly and climate-smart horticultural practices, supporting sustainable food production, soil health, and improved nutritional outcomes in organic farming systems.
