Brief profile:
Dr. Valentin MUJYAMBERE is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Rwanda–College of Veterinary medicine and Animal Sciences (UR-CVAS) and has served as Director of Teaching and Learning Enhancement Since August 2025 and as Basic Science Coordinator since September 2024. He joined the former Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (ISAE) in 2009, prior to the establishment of the University of Rwanda in 2013. He recently completed a PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, focusing on improvement strategies for local chickens in Eastern Rwanda. His academic specialization lies in animal breeding and genetics, with strong emphasis on genotype–environment interactions and animal production performance. Dr. MUJYAMBERE has previously served as focal person for the poultry research unit at UR Rubirizi campus and represented UR-CAVM in the SEAD project, particularly within the poultry value chain. He holds two Master’s degrees obtained in 2014 from Montpellier SupAgro (France) and the University of Catania (Italy), and has conducted research on milk value chains, greenhouse gas emissions, and life cycle assessment across Europe and East Africa. With over 19 years of teaching experience from secondary to university level, he possesses strong expertise in teaching, research, academic coordination, and educational leadership.
