Brief profile:
Dr. Josiane Mukagihana is a Lecturer of Biology at the University of Rwanda College of Education (UR-CE), a Ph.D. holder in Biology Education from the African Center of Excellence for Innovative Teaching and Learning Mathematics and Science (ACEITLMS), and Deputy Leader of the STEM Education Research Group. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biology with Education from the Kigali Institute of Education (now UR-CE) and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Mysore University, India. She has supervised over 28 pre-service biology teachers’ research projects and supervises postgraduate students in biology education. Dr. Mukagihana has published more than 15 peer-reviewed articles, serves as a reviewer for international journals, and contributes to national initiatives such as the Rwanda Quality Basic Education for Human Capital Development project by training secondary school math and science teachers. As a member of the Rwandan Association of Women in Science and Engineering (RAWISE), she is committed to advancing science education and inspiring young women to pursue STEM.
