Brief profile: 
"Dr. Gerard Urimubenshi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Rwanda. He holds a PhD in Stroke Service Development from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, and an MSc in Neuro-musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (Cum Laude) from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. His research focuses on stroke service development, neurorehabilitation, and disability in low- and middle-income countries. Dr. Urimubenshi has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals including The Lancet, Stroke, International Journal of Stroke, Disability and Rehabilitation, and BMC Health Services Research. He serves on several international collaborations, including the WHO Disability Health Equity Network, Cochrane Stroke Group, International Stroke Recovery and Rehabilitation Alliance, and the Global Consortium for Stroke Rehabilitation in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. Dr. Urimubenshi is also an Honorary Associate Editor of the South African Journal of Physiotherapy and a Review Editor for Frontiers in Rehabilitation Sciences. His current work contributes to advancing evidence-based, context-appropriate models for stroke rehabilitation and strengthening rehabilitation systems across Africa. "
