Brief profile: 
Dr. Emmanuel Gakuba is a Senior Lecturer of Chemistry at the University of Rwanda–College of Education (UR-CE). He holds a PhD in Organic Environmental Chemistry and an MSc in Organic Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and a BSc with Education (Biology-Chemistry) from the former Kigali Institute of Education. Since 2005, he has served as an academic staff member at UR-CE. His research focuses on analyzing organic pollutants in environmental matrices, extracting secondary metabolites for drug discovery, and advancing STEM education. Dr. Gakuba has published widely in reputable journals and supervised numerous Master’s and PhD students. He is also an associate member of the African Centre of Excellence for Innovative Teaching and Learning of Mathematics and Science (ACEITLMS).
