Brief profile:
I am Dr. NIYOMUKIZA Samuel. I hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from Pan African University Institute of Basic Sciences Technology and Innovation, hosted by Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Kenya, and a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Jiangnan University in China. I have experience in teaching in higher education and supervising undergraduate students since 2022 at the University of Rwanda. I have hands-on experience with molecular Biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction and amplification using PCR/qPCR, RNA and DNA sequencing and interpretation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, recombinant DNA technology/cloning, protein biosynthesis and purification, Bioproduct development by microbial pathway engineering. I have contributed to projects that focused on bacterial isolation, screening of strains, identifying's the strain by molecular techniques, 16S rRNA gene, enzyme production and their role in bioproduct processes. In addition to my technical expertise, I am highly motivated by the potential impact of molecular biology research in human health, disease modelling, therapeutic development and industrial bioproduct development. I welcome students at postgraduate level to join me for research guidance and supervision in related areas.
