Brief profile:
Mr. Niyibizi Vincent is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda, College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), and an experienced language educator with strong expertise in English, Kiswahili, applied linguistics, and educational research. He is currently a Master of Education in Research candidate at Moi University and holds a Master of Education in English from the University of Rwanda, alongside a Bachelor’s Degree and a Diploma in Education specializing in English and Kiswahili.
With over seven years of teaching experience across secondary and tertiary education, Mr. Niyibizi has served as a secondary school teacher, Head of the Languages Department, secondary school Head Teacher, and as a Tutorial Assistant and part-time university lecturer at the University of Tourism, Technology, and Business Studies (UTB). His professional practice integrates teaching, mentoring, academic leadership, research supervision, and curriculum-aligned instruction.
He has made significant contributions to student-centered and skills-based learning, including founding and mentoring English Debate Clubs, coaching teachers on the effective use of English as a medium of instruction, and supporting learners’ communicative, academic writing, and critical thinking skills. His academic competence has further been recognized through his selection as a marker for national teacher recruitment examinations.
Mr. Niyibizi is actively engaged in academic research and scholarly writing. He has published one paper titled “The Significance of English Writing Skills on Learners’ Performance”, with two additional research papers currently under review for publication. He has also attended multiple research seminars and capacity-building workshops, including those organized by DigiFace, with a focus on research methodology, proposal development, and academic publishing.
In addition, he has undertaken extensive professional training in Artificial Intelligence and digital literacy, including One Million Prompters, AI Literacy, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Interacting with AI, Exploring Artificial Intelligence, and Understanding How AI Impacts You and Your Government. He has also completed training in Research and Proposal Writing in the Sciences and Academic Writing Skills.
Mr. Niyibizi is multilingual, fluent in Kinyarwanda (mother tongue), English, and Kiswahili, with working proficiency in French. He possesses strong ICT and digital pedagogy skills, is a Microsoft Certified Educator, and holds a Cisco Certification (CCNP Routing & Switching). His professional interests include educational research, debate training, AI in education, academic writing, translation, and continuous professional development aligned with the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC).
