Brief profile: 
Mr Jean Bosco Micomyiza is an assistant lecturer in the food science and technology department, College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Rwanda (UR). I am currently pursuing my PhD at Pukyong National University’s food science department, in South Korea specifically in the food engineering laboratory. I obtained my MSc Degree in Biotechnology at Annamalai University (India) in 2014. I have served as an assistant lecturer at UR since 2015 where I taught different courses in the area of Food Biotechnology. I am now researching the effective valorisation of banana peel wastes using green technologies such as subcritical water and supercritical Co2 extraction to obtain high valued products. I have publications in recognized scientific journals.
