Ir. Theoneste Hagenimana holds a Master's Degree (MSc.) in Quality, Hygiene, Safety and Environment (QHSE) from the International Institute for Environmental and Water Engineering (2iE), Burkina Faso; and a State Engineer's Degree ib Biology with specilaization in Quality Control and Analysis from the University Dr Tahar Moulay of Saida, Algeria. From November 2011, Ir Theoneste started working for the former ISAE, the current College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM) in the department of Food Science and Technology. His scientific interests have been in food safety and quality management along the agri-food chain. In December 2014. he completed a four months of International training program on Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Risk Analysis at the University of Ghent, Belgium. In August 2018, he completed a four months of Africa Bioscience Research Fellowship at BecA-ILRI in Kenya to evaluate the acrylamie safety levels in deep-fat fried potato products. In October 2018, Ir. Theoneste was a Principal Invistigator of the research project on potato quality and safety for farmers' improved income generation and sustainable market supply chain with potato industry in Rwanda, a two year innovation project funded by University of Rwanda- SWEEDEN Program. Apart from his academic career, Ir Theoneste is also an East African Community certified assessor for STAR-grading of hospitality establishments (Hotels, Motels, Appartments and Restaurants).
