Cyprien TABARO is currently a Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics, Department of Humanities and Language Education in the School of Education at the University of Rwanda-College of Education. He holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics (Universiti Brunei Darussalam, 2014); a Master degree in Applied Language Studies (University of Westminster,2008); a Bachelor of Arts with Education (Kigali Institute of Education,2003), and a Postgraduate Certificate of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education-PGCLTHE (University of Rwanda,2016). He has got a teaching experience of over seventeen years spanning from primary to higher Education. For higher education, he started working with Kigali institute of Education, currently known as the University of Rwanda-College of Education since 2005. He also taught at different private Universities in Kigali on part-time basis. In leadership, he served as an Ag.Head, Department of Communication Skills, and had been a subject leader in Language Education and English language and linguistics subjects. Tabaro’s research interests span a number of areas of applied linguistics including second/foreign language learning/acquisition, language education, and language policy and planning, L2 motivation, code-switching and translanguaging, sociolinguistics, etc. He wrote and published articles in different international peer-reviewed journals, and he is a reviewer of the Rwandan Journal of Education.
