Brief profile:
"r. Daniel Nsengumuremyi is a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Sciences. He teaches and supervises undergraduate and graduate students, conducts research, engages in community outreach, and provides consultancy in Food Biotechnology and Microbiology. He is also a certified trainer for soft skills aimed at enhancing work readiness. Furthermore, he is a member of the National Codex Committee and participates in technical committees for developing and revising food standards at national and regional levels.
Dr. Nsengumuremyi holds a PhD in Engineering with a focus on Biotechnology of Food and Biological Active Substances from National Research ITMO University in the Russian Federation, an MSc in Biotechnology (Food Biotechnology program) from Ural Federal University, and a BSc in Applied Biology (Microbiology program) from the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). Additionally, he has participated in various training programs focused on soft skills and work readiness; gender mainstreaming and the development of interactive digital teaching and learning materials.
His research interests center around the production of biotechnological products, bioactive compounds, and the processing and preservation of food. Dr. Nsengumuremyi has an academic portfolio that includes over 20 publications, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He has also contributed to numerous research projects in both Rwanda and the Russian Federation.
Before his current position, Dr. Nsengumuremyi held lectureships at INES Ruhengeri in Rwanda and National Research ITMO University in the Russian Federation. He has also worked as a Research Engineer at both Ural Federal University and National Research ITMO University. Furthermore, he serves as a trainer of a program focusing on equipping youth with soft skills and work readiness to improve their employability and self-employment opportunities.
