Dr. Jean de Dieu Amini Ngabonziza is a Lecturer of Educational Linguistics at the University of Rwanda, College of Education. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and Literacy Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.Prior to joining the University of Rwanda in June 2023, Dr. Amini taught Applied Linguistics at the University of Kibungo (UNIK) from 2012 to 2020, where he also served as Director of the UNIK Language Centre for six years. He later lectured at the University of Kigali (UoK)from 2021 to May 2023. His research interests include applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, literacy education, and multilingualism in education. He has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in these areas. Dr. Amini is also an author of several children’s books, a play titled Imvura y’urukundo, and a narrative poem, I Am Killed Alive.
