"Mrs Astérie Nyirahabimana has about 15 Years working experience in teaching, training and coaching in Education and English Language as a medium of instruction related courses in Rwanda.
Currently, Nyirahabimana is an Assistant Lecturer at College of Education, University of Rwanda since 2015 when the University of Rwanda was created, but she has been an academic member of the former Kigali Institute of Education at its affiliated Kavumu College of Education since 2011. Her area of specialisation includes teacher education, child development, mothers’ education and lifelong learning. As an academic staff, She is involved in 1) Teaching and learning where she facilitates education related modules for Undergraduate students in the department of Early Childhood and Special Needs Education; 2) Community Outreach where she is conducting various Continuous Professional Developments(CPD) in Educational Mentoring and Coaching, Adult Literacies Education, Monitoring, Research and Evaluation of CPD in School leadership and management; 3) Research where she authors and co-authors various education- related articles for publication, attends and participates in conferences and currently she is developing her expertise in mothers’ adult literacy education and early childhood development through the undergoing PhD studies by distance at University of Aberdeen in Education with the exploration of the contribution of mothers’ adult literacy education to early childhood development; and 4) Administration where she is a member of the department council as the Department Rapporteur and a member of the college students disciplinary committee.
This involvement reflects Nyirahabimana’s strong commitment to both academic excellence and societal impact in teacher education and lifelong learning.
