Brief profile: 
Dr. Dorothy Tukahabwa is a Postdoctoral research fellow with the NIHR Global Health Research Group on promoting the mental wellbeing of children and adolescents in sub-Saharan Africa. She is also a Lecturer in the University of Rwanda's Department of Foundations and Curriculum Studies. She completed her PhD in childhood, youth and parenthood studies at Canterbury Christ Church University in the United Kingdom.Her doctoral thesis explored how young women negotiated gendered constructions to pursue careers in science at university. Although the thesis focused on a single qualitative case study it was also multidisciplinary, capturing elements related to education, gender, policies and higher education managerial processes which are all fundamental in her teaching responsibilities and is presently writing on the political economy of children and adolescent mental wellbeing.
