Brief profile: 
Dr Jean Baptiste Nkurunziza is a Lecturer of Chemistry at UR-CE. He holds a BSc (Chemistry) from the former National University of Rwanda, an MSc (Biochemistry) from Jain University (India) and a PhD degree in Chemistry from Mangalore University (India), a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the former Kigali Institute of Education. He has been an academic staff member of the UR-CE since 2009. His specialisation is synthetic and medicinal chemistry. His research interest lies in the synthesis of novel bioactive compounds and science education pertaining to the integration of ICT in Science education. He is an associate member of the African Centre of Excellence for Innovative Teaching and Learning Mathematics and Science (ACEITLMS) at the URCE.
