Brief profile:
Dr. Mujyambere Jean Marie Vianney is a Rwandan Chemical Engineer and university academic with extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, India, a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Xiamen University, China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science with Education from the former Kigali Institute of Education.
Since August 2021, Dr. Mujyambere has been serving as a Lecturer of Chemistry at the University of Rwanda, where he teaches undergraduate chemistry courses and supervises Master’s students in research related to chemical engineering and environmental chemistry.
He has more than 15 years of professional experience, previously serving as Director of Quality Assurance and Research, and Dean/Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Environmental Management, and Renewable Energy at UTAB. He also participated in the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) academic mobility program as a visiting lecturer at Ndejje University in Uganda.
Dr. Mujyambere’s research interests include STEM education, nanomaterials, dye degradation, electrocoagulation, and environmental chemistry, and he has authored several peer-reviewed publications in these fields. He has successfully managed multiple funded projects in agriculture productivity, higher-education capacity building, and community food security, with support from institutions such as NAEB, Erasmus+, and the German Embassy.
