The innovative aspects of the project consist in production of some elements of tangible culture of Rwanda, preserving cultural heritage focusing mainly on tourism & historical sites. The sites include ancient Rwanda King's residences, use of historical heritage in tourism development.
Implementing ‘4-in-1 Model’ to accelerate quadri literacy and community literacy in Kayonza and Nyagatare Districts.
This project seeks solve the problem of illiteracy in Rwanda, for people with limited literacy in four languages, namely Kinyarwanda, English, French and Kiswahili. It will be applying ‘4-in-1 Model’. The Model has proven to boost such quadrilingual literacy in the piloted two sectors of Kayonza district and we want to cross-check its effectiveness in other 4 sectors.
A newspaper-raising awareness on sexual & reproductive education
The innovation consists in developing a website that will be used to educate young people on sexual and reproductive health. We will focus on family planning, menstruation cycle and share knowledge that will help youth to protect themselves.
TWIS skills among children using book reading with web application.
The innovation consists in web app, a repository of high-quality stories in Kinyarwanda for kids in primary schools. The highly interactive and friendly application recommends resources to students according level of reading, preference and age. At the end of each story, students take quizzes to assess their comprehension. Each teacher can track the progress of their students and hence be able to help them accordingly
Group for Identification and Assessment of Special Educational Needs for Inclusion.
The project is about social innovation consisting in assessing the children’s special needs, provision of educational interventions to teachers, learners and other educational stakeholders and providing assistive devices (made from local environment) to learners with physical disabilities, provision of guidance and counselling to the parents, teachers, children who have special needs.
